Introduction |
|
Arts is truly the universal language
of mankind. Art at its best is profoundly human and pulsating with life. Space,
light, form, colour and movement; these are the tools used by the artist in conjunction
with his instinct and inspiration to reflect our innermost feelings. The grid upon
which an Artist constructs his/her images is remarkable. Fine Arts programs at UOS
aim to introduce the students to artistic and creative freedom. It provides ample
chance to the students to develop themselves artistically and individually through
exhibitions, workshops and visits to art galleries. The market oriented courses
offered and the expert guidance and supervision of highly qualified professionals
enables them to thoroughly explore the world of art, in different workshops like
basic drawing, designing (elements of design) print-making, minature painting, sculpture,
design analysis, life drawing, photographs, art criticism,quality of art, art marketing, history of Islamic Art, conceptual
painting, advertising, calligraphy, water colour & oil painting, design production
etc. The decision to start a Department of Fine Arts at UOS is an opportunity to
set a new course for Fine Arts in Pakistan. It is an opportunity to re-examine and
re-value Fine Arts. Every assignment, presentation, research, exhibition, and project
will incorporate different elements of arts at the simple to complex levels so that
these skills become an integral part of students thinking. |

Objectives |
|
Our main objective is to develop creative
skills, critical appreciation, knowledge of artistic techniques, and skills to communicate
ideas among the students. The Fine Arts program develops students’ sense of personal
and cultural Identity, and equips them for lifelong involvement in the arts. This
program focuses on developing the students abilities to understand the role of art
